What's The Process?
1. Submit your volunteer application. Be sure to include your Discord handle!
2. Sit tight! Applications will be reviewed, and selected volunteers will generally be contacted within a week via Email and/or Discord.
3. If selected, you’ll receive a registration code and instructions to register (address provided once form is completed)
4. Join the Bash Across Texas (BAT) Discord, if you haven’t already! You will be given access to the volunteer channels.
5. Review the class schedule released about (+3) months before the event.
6. Submit your Class Preferences to the Volunteer Director, we will aim to schedule around your selections!
7. Receive your Schedule draft once Steps 1–6 are complete.

Please note that selecting this role on your application does not automatically guarantee a bootblack position. Neither does experience. Bash Across Texas (BAT) prides itself on giving baby bootblacks, as well as polished veterans, a place on the stand. Our Community Care Director/Bootblack Coordinator will review all applications, consider your availability and our event needs, and contact each applicant individually to coordinate schedules and assignments.
Every single class will not have its own class monitor. Instead, we will have two or three roaming monitors who check in with each presenter prior to their class to ensure they have everything they need, as well as ensure closed-door classes remain closed and are not disturbed. All of this will be handled from the halls.
Being a roaming Class Monitor means you have a whole lot of flexibility, more exposure to our presenters, and are less likely to miss a class you really want to see.
Are you service-driven? Maybe you really enjoy ensuring people eat and drink, or even just bringing smiles to their faces because you hold all of the sweets and yummies. Then this is for you!
You will help maintain the Parlor Suite, as well as deliver drinks and snacks to vendors and volunteers in the Vendor Market when they can’t quite make it to the suite. Facilities might also need help relocating resources throughout the event.
Individuals participating in Registration could be responsible for anything from checking people in, taking payments, providing directions, handling lost and found, handing out supplies, and more. We ask that anyone volunteering for this role be personable, customer-service-driven, and a decent multitasker.

Enough said. Security is here to help every single individual feel supported and secure at the event—safe to be themselves and enjoy their time with us at Bash Across Texas (BAT).
Their role does not stop there. Security is also there to ensure rules are respected, hotel staff are not exposed to anything they did not consent to, and order is maintained. This can include badge checking, asking questions, redirecting individuals, ensuring people are not entering areas they are not authorized to access, and more.
Individuals participating in Setup will need to be available between 10a and 5p on Thursday. This can include anything from bringing in supplies and setting them up, helping with tech, or just making things look organized and pretty. This may include Registration, the Parlor Suite, Vendor Ballroom, Bash Across Texas (BAT) HQ, Bootblack, and more.
Where are our detail-oriented individuals? Do you love to organize? This role is for you.Volunteering for this role will require organization, people skills, a sharp eye (be observant!), and potentially taking payments while ensuring auction items and funds remain secure at all times. On Thursday and Friday, a number of individuals and vendors will be bringing you a variety of items that need to be priced, categorized, laid out, and recorded.

Same as Setup, but in reverse! The biggest thing here is time. We are expected to exit the hotel by a certain time, which will be disclosed at a later date. Generally, teardown is roughly 10a–3p on Sunday.
This is our random role! Select this if you’re willing to go wherever we have a need. It can be any role, depending on what needs to be done and where help is needed.
